Araceli Lemos (IPDF Director) has been a programmer for LAGFF since the festival’s 3rd edition. She is a filmmaker based in Athens, Greece and Los Angeles, California. In Los Angeles, she works as a director with Nonetheless Productions. She founded the International Project Discovery Forum in 2013. Lemos has also worked as an editor for documentaries and as a production designer for films that have won awards in prestigious international festivals. She graduated with an MFA in film directing from CalArts.

 

Born in Maryland, Karina Logothetis (IPDF Production Coordinator) is a Greek filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California and Athens, Greece. She holds a B.A. in Photography and Audiovisual Arts from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and a diploma in Digital Filmmaking from SAE Athens. She has worked as an assistant director, script supervisor, and AC in feature,short films and TVCs both in Athens and LA. She recently wrote and directed her first short film, which won a film fund award from the Hellenic Film Academy and OTE TV in 2016.

 

Giulia Caruso (Consulting Producer) ) is an LA- based Italian award-winning producer and founder of Nonetheless Productions. At the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards, she won the John Cassavetes Award for Andrew Ahn’s debut feature SPA NIGHT. Her latest feature, COLUMBUS, starring John Cho, Haley Lu Richardson and Parker Posey, premiered at Sundance and Rotterdam in 2017. Columbus is self-distributed through the first Sundance Creative Distribution Fellowship and went on to gross over one million dollars at the box office. Giulia is an alumnus of the Sundance Creative Producing Summit, Film Independent Project Involve, Rotterdam Producers Lab and Berlinale Talent Campus. She holds an MFA in Film Directing from Calarts.

 

Thouly Dosios (IPDF Reader) holds a B.A. in Visual Studies from Harvard University and an M.F.A. in Film Directing from UCLA. Her short film, HOUSE OF THE OLIVE TREES, has screened in over 80 film events worldwide, receiving several distinctions. Dosios has written and directed a wide range of documentary projects, as well as the shorts, VIRAL THREAD and ROCKING & REELING. She edited the independent comedy, BALLS TO THE WALL, directed by Spheeris. Dosios is currently developing the screenplay for her first feature.

 

Daniel de Boulay (IPDF Intern) was born in Queens, New York and raised on Long Island. In 2015, Daniel relocated to Los Angeles where he is currently a Screenwriting major in his Senior year at Loyola Marymount University. Daniel’s primary concentration includes genre films with journalistic socio-economic themes at the heart of the story. “I believe stories are the best engine to convey ideas. A lot of the answers to the world’s most pressing concerns are buried in the details of some dead economist’s theories. I believe cinema can lend a dramatic lens to economics and bring meaningful insight to audiences.”

 

Carmen Corea (IPDF Intern) is a senior at Loyola Marymount University majoring in Screenwriting and Classics. She has a passion for storytelling and has had several internships in both film production and development. Post-graduation she hopes to pursue a career in film development.

 

Colin Lauber (IPDF Intern) Moved to Los Angeles from the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue a career as a filmmaker and screenwriter. He is currently a sophomore at Loyola Marymount University majoring in Film Production where he has made several of his own short films, as well as working on sets of fellow film students. He has interned for multiple production companies in both development and production.

 

Roberto Ortega (IPDF Intern) came to Loyola Marymount University’s SFTV Screenwriting program as an international student from Vicenza, Italy. A current Junior, he hopes to take what he’s learned from this cultural exchange to help inform his writing to better reflect foreign cultures. The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival is his first professional foray into the industry, but hopefully not his last.
