Celebrated by the Guardian as “a rare diamond,” Athena Andreadis keeps touching peoples’ hearts with her powerful voice.
Invited to join Leonard Cohen as a featured guest vocalist on what would be his final album, You Want It Darker, Andreadis sings the Greek-influenced, hauntingly beautiful, “Traveling Light.” Her debut US album release, Ready for The Sun released in 2017 to rave reviews, including the Huffington Post hailing Athena’s voice as “both heartwarming and majestic“.
With 4 records under her belt, Andreadis has sold out UK tours and performed internationally at world-class concert halls and festivals. Her songs have been in the top 10 on both UK and Greek charts and have been included in films and television in both America and Europe, such as The London Olympics Visit England Campaign, Mike & Molly (CBS), Smash (NBC), Nomads, and SWING AWAY, which is featured in the lineup of films at the LAGFF this year.
In Greece, she has collaborated with Yiannis Markopoulos on his critically acclaimed last record and worked with George Andreou (George Dalaras, Haris Alexiou, Eleni Vitali). She performed duets with Dimitra Galani and Mario Frangouli, appeared on TV, topped the Greek Charts, had sold out shows at Megaro Mousikis (Athens Concert Hall) with the London Community Gospel Choir performing Andreadis’ work.
Andreadis’ charity work in Greece includes collaborating with Starbucks to fundraise for Kinoniko Pantopolio throughout Greece and Cyprus to help Greek families in need.
