Nikos Kazantzakis: Capetan Michalis

Based on the book by Nikos Kazantzakis. 1889, Crete. Captain Michalis, an uncompromising Cretan whose sacred duty is the liberation of Crete, is possessed by a demon the moment he meets Emine, the wife of his blood brother, Nouribeys. Temptation will not leave him alone and distracts him from his duty.

Kostas Haralabous studied European History, Philosophy, and Film Direction. Captain Michalis is his fourth feature film. More filmography includes Luger, Tied Red Thread (awarded for Special Effects and the Cinematic Innovation Award by the Hellenic Film Academy in 2012), and Love at 16 (received the State Award for Best Newcomer Director at the Thessaloniki International Festival in 2004).
