A diverse panel of esteemed writers and personalities from the TV world share their experiences, challenges and efforts to promote diversity in TV – both in the writer’s room and in the characters they create.

3-5pm: How a Director Finds Her Characters – Masterclass with Athina Tsangari, moderated by Carlos Aguilar (Masterclass, Open to the Public)
Greek auteur Athina Tsangari, whose Attenberg (2010) earned international acclaim, is back with another peculiar observation on human relationships. Chevalier, which premiered at last year’s Locarno International Film Festival, is an unconventional look at male friendships. It had its North American premiere at the Toronto FF and won London BFI’s Best Film Award. Chevalier will screen at LAGFF and Tsangari will join us for an insightful masterclass on the directing craft. Her unique approach to working with actors, the seemingly absurd premises of her films, and her unique brand of humor have positioned Tsangari as one of the most exciting and uncompromising filmmakers working today. Join us for a stimulating masterclass. Film journalist Carlos Aguilar will moderate the discussion.
Spielberg Theater @ The Egyptian Theater, 3-5pm

June 5th – SUNDAY
10:30-1pm: Final Presentation

The Final Presentation is the culmination of our intensive 4-day workshop. The IPDF Filmmakers, having gathered feedback and advice, will now present their projects to a panel of leading industry professionals specializing in International Independent Cinema. Each presentation will last 20 minutes, including presentation, feedback and discussion. After that, the Panel will deliberate to determine the winner of the Aegean Award that will be presented during the Closing Night Ceremony.
Spielberg Theater @ The Egyptian Theater, 10.30am-1.00pm

8pm: Closing Night Ceremony
The Aegean Award winner will be announced during the festival’s closing night ceremony. At 4:30 you can have your picture taken on the red carpet. After the ceremony, join us at the courtyard for the closing night reception where we will dance, while enjoying wine and food.
